Description

This specification² covers forged³ carbon steel piping components for ambient and higher-temperature service in pressure systems. Included are flanges, fittings, valves, and similar parts to specified dimensions or to dimensional standards such as those ANSI and API specifications that are referenced in Section 2.

Supplementary requirements are provided for use when additional testing or inspection is desired. These shall apply only when specified individually by the purchaser in the order.

Specifications covering other steel forgings are listed in 2.1 and 2.2.

Note 1 - The values stated in U.S. customary units are to be regarded as the standard.
