Description

This determination arises from the decision of the authority to refuse to issue a code compliance certificate for a 6-year-old building, because it was not satisfied that the building work complies with certain clauses of the Building Code.

Based on the information available, and in the absence of any submission from the authority, the matter for determination is whether the decision to issue a code compliance certificate was correct. In making this determination the following matters have been considered:

  1. Whether the wall and roof claddings as installed on the house comply with Clause B2 Durability and Clause E2 External Moisture;
  2. Whether the building complies with the remaining Building Code clauses relevant to this house;
  3. Whether the elements that make up the building work comply with Building Code Clause B2 Durability, taking into account the age of the house.
