Description

This determination arises from the decision of the authority to refuse to issue a code compliance certificate for 9-year-old alterations and additions ('the alterations') because it is not satisfied that the building work complies with the Building Code. Based on correspondence with the authority following the application, the matters for determination are:

1. Whether the cladding as installed on the alterations ('the cladding') complies with Clause E2 External Moisture of the Building Code;
2. Whether the alterations comply with the remaining relevant clauses of the building code;
3. Whether the elements that make up the alterations comply with Building Code Clauses B2 Durability, taking into account the age of the building.
