Description

This Standard sets out a test method for determining the combustibility of building materials and is one of a series of test methods for evaluating the potential fire hazard of building products.

This fire test was developed for use by those responsible for selection of construction materials which, although not completely inert, produce only a limited amount of heat and flame when exposed to temperatures of approximately 750C.

This revision aligns the test method more closely with ISO 1182:1990 but specifies combustibility criteria necessary for regulatory purposes.

Scope

This Standard specifies a test method for the determination of the combustibility of a building material within the criteria given in Clause 3.4.
